2-year-old shows signs of rape, tests positive for STD, KCK police say - WIBW

KANSAS CITY, Kan. (WIBW) -- The Kansas City, Kansas, Police Dept. is investigating after a two-year-old girl showed signs of having been raped. The toddler also reportedly tested positive for a sexually-transmitted disease.

KCK Police Chief Terry Ziegler tweeted about the incident Saturday in a report of overnight activity.

He said the little girl and her siblings were left at the home of a family friend. The next day, her mother discovered injuries and took her to Children's Mercy Hospital where she tested positive for the STD, he continued. Ziegler did not specify what STD was found.

Police did not identify anyone involved in the investigation.

No other information about the incident has been released.
