Bi-Mart selling all pharmacies to Walgreens; patients' prescriptions files will transfer starting in October - The Register-Guard
The Northwest retail chain Bi-Mart announced Thursday it is selling all 56 of its pharmacy businesses to Walgreens. The sale will result in all Bi-Mart patient prescription files and pharmacy inventory being transferred over to Walgreens, according to an announcement from its executive team. Bi-Mart retail stores are not closing as a result of the deal. The prescription file transfers are expected to begin in mid-October and be completed by January. Bi-Mart pharmacists and pharmacy staff will have an opportunity to apply for open positions at Walgreens, the release states. Bi-Mart has 11 locations with pharmacies in Lane County, according to Bi-Mart's store finder, including four locations in Eugene, two in Springfield and one each in Cottage Grove, Creswell, Florence, Junction City and Veneta.
